Hi Allison, I'm sorry to hear you lenses scratched easier than expected. This does not sound normal. I would suggest you contact our care team at info@thesunglassfix.com.au and explain to them what happened. I'm sure they'd be happy to help. As for scratch protection we test our lenses on a regular basis against industry standards and find that we outperform most designer and sport ranges by a large factor. We hardcoat all of our lenses and have recently rolled out a new technology that goes over mirrored lenses to bring them up to the same standard as our non mirrored lenses. Traditionally mirroring was applied on top of the hardcoat. Mirroring itself is generally far less scratch resistant so coating on top of this has further strengthened our lenses. Regardless, all lenses scratch. However, if you take good care of them they should last for years. I have a pair I haven't treated all that well that's still in good shape after 5 years. Anyhow, one bad event can destroy them. One session in a purse for a day sitting next to car keys, one session with a toddler on the floor, or the pet thinking it's their latest chew toy. Anyhow, this doesn't seem to be your case as a review this bad implies you must be extremely disappointed and that's abnormal. Again, please reach out to our care team as we can't work out who you are from just your first name. We'd love to get that particular pair back and get you a proper set so we can perform testing on it to see if we can figure out what might have happened. We'd also like to ensure you get a good experience with our product as it sounds like a rare situation you encountered. Again, call us on numbers on thesunglassfix.com/contact or email info@thesunglassfix.com.au Thanks, Craig Anderson CEO and Founder of The Sunglass Fix
