Replacement Nose Pads for Glasses & Sunglasses

Choose the correct nose pad fitting for your sunglasses

Push-In Nose Pads

Push-in nose pads slot into a small rectangular opening on the nose stem of the frame. They are slightly tapered, which means once fitted they hold firmly in place without any screw. To identify whether your glasses use this fitting, check the nose stem for the absence of a screw. Take care not to confuse push-in pads with System 3 pads — push-in versions generally have a narrower opening.

Screw-In Nose Pads

Screw-in nose pads are secured to the frame with a small retaining screw. To confirm whether your glasses use this fitting, look closely at the nose stem for a tiny screw holding the pad in position.

Clip-On / Crimp Nose Pads

Clip-on or crimp-on nose pads feature two small metal arms that wrap around the nose pad stem on the frame. To check whether yours use this system, examine the original pads and look for metal arms curled around the stem — if so, these are your replacement type.

System 3 Nose Pads

System 3 nose pads also fit via a rectangular opening on the nose stem and are held in place by their tapered shape rather than a screw. They are easy to confuse with standard push-in pads — the key difference is that System 3 uses a wider opening on the stem for mounting. If in doubt, compare the opening size on your original frame.

Post Mount Nose Pads

Post mount nose pads use a dedicated post or peg on the frame that the pad slots directly onto. Check your existing nose pads carefully to confirm whether this fitting matches your glasses before ordering.

How to order replacement nose pads

Before placing an order, you'll need to identify how your current nose pads are fitted to your glasses. We recommend carefully removing one of the existing pads so you can inspect the mounting system closely and measure the dimensions accurately.

How to Fit Screw-In Nose Pads

Using a small screwdriver, loosen the retaining screw (typically 1mm) on the nose stem just enough to free the old pad. Do not remove the screw entirely — these tiny screws are very easy to lose if dropped.

Position the new nose pad in the same orientation as the original, align the hole with the stem receiver, and carefully tighten the screw back into place.

How to Fit Push-In Nose Pads

To remove the old pad, grip the nose stem firmly with one hand and pull the pad free with the other. It's essential to support the stem throughout this process — if too much pressure is applied without support, the stem can bend or snap. A toothpick or optical screwdriver can be useful for pushing the tab through the receiver if needed.

To fit the replacement, press it firmly into the receiver while supporting the back of the stem. If it doesn't seat fully, wrap a pair of pliers in a soft cloth and apply gentle, even pressure until the pad clicks into place.

How to Fit Rubber Moulded Nose Pads

Rubber moulded nose pads typically clip into a dedicated receiver on the frame. Pull the existing pad off firmly and press the new one into the same position. The main challenge with this type is that there are a huge number of frame-specific designs on the market, making it difficult to source universal replacements.

In most cases, your best option is:

Contact the sunglass manufacturer directly, quoting your model number, and ask whether they stock original replacement nose pads for your specific frame.
