You didn’t just buy your sunglasses because they look great. You bought them because the world looked great through them. We want your world to always look that good; if not better.
At the Sunglass Fix we believe that clarity is king. That’s why we won’t compromise the optical excellence of our lenses and only employ the most optically precise materials, coatings and films.
Unlike most, we don’t just use regular polycarbonate for our Ultimate lenses. We use specially engineered optical Polyamide for a state of the art lens that combines the strength of plastic with the clarity of glass.
All our lenses come with guaranteed 100%UV block-out as standard. They are designed to withstand the rigours of the harsh Australian sun and will happily protect your eyes anywhere on our wonderful planet.
Japanese Polarisation technology has long been recognized as the best you can get - 99.9% efficacy (effective for you and me). That's why we don't use anything else on our precision optical lenses.
It’s not because we have to comply with American, Australian and European safety standards; it’s because your eyesight is as important to us as it is to you. Any tougher and our lenses would only be available standard issue in green.

Our Replacement Lens Range
SFx Diamond (ultimate lenses)
Breathe new life into your designer sunglasses with our super premium lenses. Chanel, Prada and Gucci will feel as at home with the SFx Diamond Lens collection as Oakley, Maui Jim and every make and model in between. All Diamond lenses are manufactured in Polyamide with a state-of-the-art anti-reflective coating on the inside. Whether polarized for supreme glare prevention or with a subtle gradient and light flash mirror, these lenses are created to stand out and perform.
SFx Ultra (polarised lenses)
One of the strongest, lightest and most durable lenses possible. These lenses integrate world leading Japanese polarisation film with a 99.9% efficacy rating; making them one of the best anti-glare filters around. Crystal clear with 100% UV protection and available in a wide choice of colours with a variety of mirror finishes and gradient options, these lenses look great and perform even better. An everyday lens that delivers simply extraordinary optics.
SFx Edge (non-polarised lenses)
Safe, durable, lightweight and ready for action. SFx Edge lenses are coated with a protective layer that resists scratching and repels water & sweat. Laboratory testing ranks our lenses the optical equivalent to glass but at 1/3 the weight. Plus they don't break, are safer and easier to install. Simple, stylish and technically excellent.
Please Note - NOT GLASS
We made this choice as we feel there are better technologies available today – like optical Polyamide. Glass is prone to breaking or shattering when dropped and is exceptionally difficult (if not impossible) to install without professional equipment and expertise.
All our lenses offer exceptional optical clarity and flexibility that makes them as durable as they are easy to install. That’s why we stand by our 6 month no questions money-back guarantee.
Precision Lens Materials
Sunglass Fix lenses are made exclusively from the highest grade of optical Polyamide and Polycarbonate. While Polyamide is in a class of its own for optical excellence, Polycarbonate sets the standard for safety and performance and both deliver true HD performance.
An oleophobic external coating repels oils and water and makes cleaning extremely easy. Combined with a hardcoat for durability and scratch resistance and these may well be the best lenses you've ever owned.
The exact composition of each lens differs from one to the next and every lens has been specified and engineered to look great and perform flawlessly. For the exact details of a particular lens, please see the information provided when making your final colour selection
Glare is light reflected off surfaces like snow, water and the road which, as it is reflected, becomes horizontally polarised. The polarisation film built into our lenses is oriented to acts as a filter preventing horizontal light waves from passing through. Hence a polarised lens reduces glare significantly but allows all other (non horizontal) light to pass through.
The reduction of glare provided by sunglass lenses allows you to wear your sunglasses for much longer periods of time with reduced eye-strain and squinting eyes. We also have customers that suffer from migraines who claim that polarised lenses help reduce the onset of headaches.
Polarised lenses are found in many sports brands but are not generally common in fashion eye-wear. However, many of our customers opt to upgrade to a polarised lens in designer eye-wear for the added glare protection and soothing performance they deliver.
Regular sunglass lenses reduce glare by blocking all visible light in an equal manner – not only the horizontally reflected light. Our lenses are made from one of the best performing Japanese polarisation films (rated at an industry leading 99.9% efficacy).

Mirrors & Coatings
All of our lenses offer 100% UV protection and they all come with specialist coatings to help with reducing scratches and smudging; but many of our lenses have additional mirroring and anti-reflective coatings.
Mirroring can vary significantly in its strength; from total (like our green and gold mirror) to a very light flash (as in our flash silver mirrors and a number of the flash gold mirrors on our premium Diamond range).
Not just an attractive finish, mirroring helps to reflect light in bright conditions and like the anti-reflective inside coating (which reduced bounce back) help keep everything looking clearer and more defined when in strong sunlight.
And, while we don’t produce glass lenses, we coat all our lenses with a super tough outer hardcoat to make them as scratch resistant as they possibly can be. On our Diamond range this coating has been taken to a new level of anti-scratch excellence.
Quality Features of Sunglass Fix Replacement Lenses
All our lenses are crafted from optically superb Polyamide or Polycarbonate material and are coated to give glass like optical clarity. Our SFx lenses are 60% lighter than glass and are much stronger. All our SFx polarised lenses and silver mirrored lenses have a Super Hydrophobic coating that makes cleaning and repelling water during strenuous activities a breeze. They stay clear so you can perform.
All of our lenses meet AS/NZS 1067:2003 and all other known regional quality and safety standards. They provide 100% UV protection so you know your eyes are being protected. The SFx Polycarbonate (PC Polarised and High Clarity) lenses are made from the same primary material used in bulletproof glass and safety goggles making the lenses virtually shatter proof. Our Ultimate lenses are some of the safest lenses on the market. However, they fall just short of the Industrial Safety standards required for safety glasses. Please note, frames also play a big factor in safety glasses. Safety lenses in fragile frames can make good sunglasses but may not provide safety required at the workplace.
All our lenses have undergone industry standard steel wool abrasion testing and rank between 600-800% higher than competitors retailing for well over $200 in the shops. While polycarbonate lenses still lag behind glass lenses in scratch protection, they do not break and will last for years if taken care of.
