How to Fix Your Broken Sunglasses

So you’ve broken your favourite sunnies... Don’t panic - it happens to the best of us, and you can fix them at home with these simple tricks:

1. Try Cleaning the Lenses

Sometimes a smudge or a little line on your lens can be removed with a simple clean. Just get some soap and water on the lens, give it a dry and a nice polish with cloth, and you’ll see the world much more clearly!

2. Adjust the Arms

To adjust the arms on a pair of plastic frames, you can soften the plastic with heat. We don’t want you to ruin your expensive frames, so we suggest taking them to an eye care professional. Metal frames are much easier to fix than plastic - all you need is a flat surface, soft cloth, and pliers. With a soft cloth on the frames, clamp the pliers over the cloth near the bend and make small adjustments, bending the arm back into place. To test your frames, just lay them upside down on a flat surface, and make adjustments until they lay flat.

3. Tighten the Screws

Are your sunnies feeling loose?  It can help to tighten the screws that hold the top and bottom part of the frame firmly around the lenses on your sunnies, using a optical screwdriver which you can purchase online from The Sunglass Fix. We recommend doing this periodically, as these can loosen over time.

4. Replace Your Damaged Lenses

If your sunglass lenses are scratched or broken, you can replace them with new HD quality lenses. You can find over 100,000 sunglass lens models in thirteen different colours at Sunglass Fix, Australia’s industry leader in customized and replacement lenses. *Link
